Recently....

I've been enjoying my smiling, giggling, ticklish baby; falling in love with her discovering the world.   Revelling in summer food; chick pea's, chorizo, feta cheese, crunchy radishes; falafel burgers, ice lollies, potato wedges, aioli. Developing an unhealthy obsession with perfecting a date flapjack (I'm on batch number 6).  Note books, amorphous to-do lists, breast-feeding reading. Enjoying bath times in the tummy tub. Loving finally being able to use our cloth nappies (it took 8 weeks as she was too tiny at first- great so far.) Country walks around my parents house; bluebell fields at the farm, a shire horse, summer flowers, blue skies.  Meeting new mum friends. Day trips to the British Museum and The National Portrait Gallery, enjoying delicious lunch at the London Review of Books, drinks at Spuntino's (all with Frankie-Rose!)  as well as just bumming about locally- trips to the park (see video), cafe's and friends houses.

We love the tummy tub, uses much less water and it apparently feels 'womb like' for babies

(One of our trips to the park. By my mister with a friends Go-Pro- oh how I want one!)

Being a mum, being on maternity leave in the summer time, is kind-of nice, you know.

P.s a few of the ropier pics are from Instagram, which i've recently rejoined (Hannshseedsandstitches)

Crochet blanket, finished

Whoa, three weeks have gone by, gracious! We have been busy bees, Frankie-Rose and I; getting to know each other, going on adventures and generally pottering on through this whole motherhood, babyhood lark. Its been amazing, hence the blog absence (more on that later) but I'm back.

Yes. You heard it correctly. After starting it two years earlier, extending it twice, unravelling extensive parts of it, cursing it loudly, stomping on it on the floor, leaving it in a contemptuous pile for a while then falling in love with it again, the baby blanket is finally finished. Here it is in all its wonky glory.

It had to be large enough to cover the end of a single bed, hence the multiple extensions. (This thing is going to lat till she's in her teens if it kills me)

Its been with me from pre-pregnancy through to post birth, forming together slowly, with a few hiccups along the way, as I formed my baby. Its been emotional. But my God am I glad its finished.

I think she liked it.

Ta-daaaaah!
